Google Cell Number For Finding Places

Thanks to Anita T. for passing along this handy and fun suggestion (I just programmed it into my cell):

Here's a number worth putting in your cell phone.
1-800-GOOG411 (1-800-466-4411)

This is an awesome service from Google and it's free...
great when you are on the road. Listen to the clip, below!

Reflexology and Interconnectedness

I attended a great introductory talk on Reflexology last night by Joy Hosey at the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library. She directed the attendees to this neat interactive map of the hand showing related parts of the human body, and other online charts like this one with a map of the feet showing yet another example of how, in a somatic way, our bodies exemplifiy the principle of interconnectedness – we're living fractals!

Massage therapist recommendations

Today (thanks to a gift certificate from my stepson) I enjoyed (like millions of others) the benefits of therapeutic massage from a licensed massage therapist, as I have been doing for decades. Based on this one experience, I would recommend Tanya Reasor of Bodyworks/Body-n-Balance in Medford, Oregon as well as our usual LMT (Holly Smith at Superior Athletic Club in Eagle Point, Oregon). Also long overdue are thanks to former massage therapists such as Melissa Silva and many others in Nevada County, Calif. I also find hot springs soaks quite soothing, as a complement to regular exercise, stretching/yoga and good nutrition.

Optical Delusions of Consciousness

Thanks to Anita T. for sending this link to a lavish assortment of optical illusions; reminders to not take our minuscule 3D sense perceptions (and particularly our INTERPRETATIONS of them) too seriously! Here's a related quote by Albert Einstein:

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us, "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." : Albert Einstein - (1879-1955) Physicist and Professor, Nobel Prize 1921

Yahoo Group for The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard

Here's a Yahoo (dialogue) Group about of the book I'm savoring and will re-read many times by its author:

Biological Encyclopedia

Thanks to Shaun L. for pointing out this neat wiki-esque Encyclopedia of Life whose tag line reads: "Imagine an electronic page for each species of organism on Earth available everywhere by single access on command." E.O. Wilson"

Crater Rock Museum

Yesterday we savored the superb gem and mineral collection at the Crater Rock Museum in Central Point, Oregon. Even if you're not a rock hound, this is a detour worth stopping off I5 for, if you're traveling through southern Oregon. Here are a few photos from the amazing collection there:

Website Site Map XML resource

Here's an interesting resource for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) using an XML protocol for Site Maps.

Interesting Online Media

I've been compiling a list of interesting online media (video and audio streaming) for a project I'm working on, so here are a few of my favorites and recent finds: (e.g. Daniel Giamario's Shamanic Astrology show on Fridays) (e.g. Caroline Casey's Visionary Activist show on Thursdays) (e.g. Haines Ely's Earth Mysteries show on Mondays)

A couple of online health information resources I really appreciated

I've known about Dr. Mercola's website for some time, but only in the last couple of months have subscribed to his daily short video webcast; a huge wealth of great information on nutrition in particular, and health in general, such as today's mini-session on Omega 6, Omega 3, and Krill Oil.

Another excellent resource (both of which seem to corroborate competent medical research in the field of health), is the
Real Age website. In addition to a free self-quiz you can take and update periodically, which covers all aspects of lifestyle, not just nutrition, there are numerous references to important health info here also.

To your sustainable health on all levels! Happy
