Sustainable Lumber and Fair Trade products

I just
watched an inspiring "win-win" (recognizing ecology =
economy, since everything is interconnected) video on
Free Speech TV
about
sustainable FSC (Forest Stewardship
Council) lumber featured
by companies like Ikea (furniture made from
Hedlunda lumber)
and Home Depot. Kudos to those
companies that realize that sustainability
is in
EVERYONE'S best interests. You can
search for certified companies
here. The video also
talked about Fair Trade products (see
my March 10, 2008 post
which
also involves shade grown coffee). The program
showed sustainable logging in Oaxaca, Mexico, and
British Columbia and even had a vignette of the
wind farm on Altamont Pass near my home town of
Livermore, Calif. where a local company
is
now exploring solar energy
balloons.
